In Chapter 8 of Man In The Iron Mask of Dumas King Louis was worried that Aramis and Porthos escaped. He didn't want them to escape after what they done so he summoned D'Artagnan and told him to go to Belle-Isle. Porthos and Aramis were hiding in Belle-Isle they soon notice that all the boat were gone and were traped on the island. Aramis told Porthos the truth because Porthos didn't know what was happening. But that was when they notice a hole fleet of ships with royal flags. Even if Porthos knew the truth he still stick with Aramis after all there one motto was " All for one and one for all ". When D'Artagnan was on the island he told them to surrender but let them escape but the King knew of the plan so it didn't help. But Armis refused when D'Artagnan went on the ship and told his crew " Once the first fire is started, we'll show no mercy ". But he got a letter from King Louis (that if D'Artagnan refuse they can't listen to him)(pg 68 Dumas). D'Artagnan knew the King didn't trust him so he went on a boat and left. Because if he didn't left he would become a prisoner in France. So the soldier were going on Belle-Isle while Aramis and Porthos were hiding in a cavern in Locmaria. They were going to wait till night, it was going well untill they were discovered. They fought bravely but the soldiers fired a canoon Aramis was able to escape but Porthos been crushed to death.That was the end of one of the four musketeers.
